International Red Panda Day 2019

The 10th International Day of the Red Panda was celebrated on Saturday, September 21, 2019 in many zoos, whether in France or around the world. Indeed, such an event had to be memorable!

The objective of this particular day, for us, is above all to relay the actions of our partner in Nepal, the Red Panda Network (RPN), and raise funds for their field programs.

On the French side, the event gathered 15 zoological parks: a record! Here is the list : Asson zoo (13/07), the zoological reserve of Haute Touche (10 and 11/08), L'espace zoologique St Martin-la-Plaine (21/08), the animal and botanical park of Mulhouse (14 and 15/09), the animal park of Auvergne (15/09) , the Pal, supported by the Foundation Le Pal Nature (15/09), the zoo of Lille, the zoo of Champrépus, the zoo African Safari, the zoo of Amiens (on 21 and 22/09), the park of Clères (on 21 and 22/09), the menagerie of the Jardin des Plantes, the animal park of the Pyrenees (on 22/09), the zoo of La Boissière-du-Doré (on 29/09) and the animal park of Ste Croix (on 5 and 6/10).

CPPR was present in 8 of these parks.

This year, we highlighted our new reforestation campaign, "Adopt a Tree" (AuA), a campaign for which the public was very responsive. In total, 724 trees were sponsored! We donated the rest of the profits from the IRPD to reach the figure of 2400 trees, and thus contribute to reforest 2 Ha!

If you also wish to participate, and sponsor one or more trees, click here !

This year, 3500€ were raised for the NPR. We would like to thank all the parks that made this event possible, as well as our tireless volunteers, without whom none of this would be possible!

If you also want to get involved in the preservation of the Red Panda, do not hesitate to contact us, to talk about it around you, and help us to make them known!
