Events 2017

The Clères Park Festival

On 8 and 9 April 2017, the Parc de Clères inaugurated its new aviaries. For the occasion, the park's teams had set up several tents on the castle's terraces, to welcome craftsmen and associations, including the CPPR!

So it was under a radiant sun and summer weather that our team of volunteers set up their stand to welcome the public as it should be: information panels, shop, face painting and colouring workshops...

The "panda challenge" was very well received! People got into the game, and even went to read the panels afterwards to check that our host hadn't made a mistake... In fact, no one managed to get to the end of the seven questions!

To sum up, a magnificent weather, a receptive public, and enthusiastic volunteers: all the ingredients were gathered in a cocktail of good mood! We would like to thank the Parc de Clères for its invitation, and our volunteers: Anne-Gwénaël, Clarisse, Elodie, Ombeline and Véronique.

Zoo de La Flèche

On Monday 05 June 2017, La Flèche zoo kindly welcomed a team from the CPPR to run a stand during the day and offer various activities to the public of Sarthe to raise awareness about the preservation of the Red Panda. Our volunteers set up their tables under a radiant sun.

Make-up and colouring workshops held the attention of the youngest, while the older ones were tempted by the pandas challenge: some even went quite far in the challenge, since for the first time, one person reached the end of the seven questions! But the challenge was still difficult and people played with great enthusiasm!

At 4.30 pm, Betty, our treasurer, commented on the feeding of the red pandas by the zookeepers. This was the highlight of the day: many people had gathered for the occasion!

We would like to thank the whole team of La Flèche zoo for their warm welcome, and also our volunteers, Anne-Gwénaël, Betty, Ombeline and Vérane, without whom nothing would be possible!

André Raimbourg College in Doudeville

On 16 June 2017, our vice-president was invited to the André Raimbourg college in Doudeville (76), for the "end of year drink" of her "red panda" club.

On this occasion, the students of the club recapitulated all the actions they have carried out during the year to raise funds and awareness for the preservation of the red panda. From the Christmas market to the setting up of a lottery, the students gave their all, developing qualities that will be very useful to them in the future, whether in terms of organisation, oral expression... Their passion pushed them to surpass themselves, and they did so with great pleasure and dedication!

We were very impressed by their investment! The "red panda" club was very happy to present a cheque for 250€ to our vice-president, who was more than moved by such enthusiasm and generosity.

The entire CPPR team is proud to be able to work with students as passionate as those of the "red panda" club at Doudeville secondary school. Thank you all!

Pont-Scorff Zoo

On 16 July 2017, a CPPR team accepted the invitation of Pont-Scorff Zoo, and it was under a summer sky that our volunteers arrived early to set up everything.

On the programme: face-painting and colouring workshops for the little ones, a panel exhibition and a "panda challenge" for the older ones, two feeding sessions with commentary in the afternoon, and of course, the sale of items bearing the CPPR logo in our shop!

The Breton public was very sensitive to our actions and we hope to have rallied future volunteers to our cause. In any case, the zoo staff were very attentive to our volunteers, and we thank them warmly for their welcome and their kindness. Thanks also to our volunteers Anne-Gwénaël, Sylvie and Yves.

Zoo de La Flèche

On 12 and 13 August 2017, our volunteers went to La Flèche zoo to run a stand. If Saturday was rainy, Sunday was a very summery day. For the first time, our team was placed in the new Asian zone, under the siamangs' pergola, not far from the red pandas' enclosure. Behind them were the Indian rhinos, and the siamangs regaled them with their melodious song. So our volunteers set up their stand in this corner of vegetation, with a few decorative lanterns to bring the public to them.

In addition to the shop, face painting and colouring activities were offered, as well as an exhibition of educational panels, and the "panda challenge" game. The public was very receptive to our actions. As usual, the panda challenge was a great success. The face painting was also a great success! Dozens of little pandas wandered through the alleys of the park that weekend.

The highlight of these two days was the feeding with commentary by our president at 4pm. The public flocked to see the two red pandas eating their bamboo. The people were very sensitive to our speech, and the zoo team was very friendly!

Thank you to La flèche zoo for welcoming so warmly our volunteers, Anne-Gwénaël, Hélène, Mélissa and Alexis.

Le Pal Nature Foundation Day

On 22 October 2017, Le Pal Wildlife and Attraction Park opened its doors for its "Le Pal Nature Foundation Day".

Each invited association was located next to the installation of the species concerned. Thus, we were installed at an unavoidable point in the public's visit, next to the red pandas' enclosure, just after the elephants' enclosure, emblematic animals of the park.

The weather was not as good as the previous year. But the public was as receptive as ever.

There was a peak in attendance because this year the park had organised a commented feeding of the pandas in the early afternoon. The caretaker who was doing the animation spoke about our association in order to raise funds for the preservation of the species in the wild.

It is always a pleasure to be able to participate in this event because it is aimed at a well-informed public that is aware of the animal cause. We will try in the future to ensure our presence year after year, and would like to warmly thank the park teams for their investment, their support and especially the trust they place in us! Thanks also to our volunteers Adeline, Hélène, Marine and Alexis!
