Description

The Himalayan Zoological Park (HZP) in Gangtok, Sikkim, in northern India, is the breeding center for red pandas with the ultimate goal of reintroducing individuals into their natural environment.

Almost all of the red pandas have fallen victim to canine distemper, transmitted by stray dogs near the enclosures. This tragedy has led to new measures being taken to secure the area.

In partnership with the HZP, the CPPR decided to help build a perimeter wall to ensure on-site reproduction.

The HZP's "My Child from Wild" campaign allows for the sponsorship of an animal to raise funds. At the same time, we have opened the "Build the perimeter wall" fundraising campaign. Sikkim ».
